With SkinWhite, I Can Be the Fairest of Them All

When I first met my DH, he was already checking me out. Maybe because I'm the fairest of them all on that very night. (kapal ba?! haha!) Ever since teenager, I always take good care of my skin. I apply SPF 15 on my face and SPF 30 on my body on beach outings. I also use lotions with SPF for everyday use, plus my daily intake of liquids and exercise.

For me skin is the largest organ in our body that everybody could see. Thus, seeing that we have beautiful skin gives us that radiant and glowing aura. And that, my DH could easily notice me even he is only at the gate. hahaha!

SkinWhite has SYNCHROWHITE ACTION that works in FOUR ways all the time:

WHITENS the skin’s surface
REDUCES formation of new dark pigments at its source
NOURISHES skin with Vitamins
PROTECTS skin against toxins and UV rays

Cuts 4 Tots @ Trinoma

We took my son for a hair cut last weekend at Cuts 4 Tots Trinoma. He was overdue for a haircut and his bangs are going in his eyes. Kawawa naman because he always rubs his eyes. This was his first paid haircut because I bought a philips hair cutter for toddlers when he was only 6 mos. old. And this what we used until we can't cut his Beiber hair anymore. haha!

The barber was gentle and very patient. Well my child is not that active, just put a TV in front of him and he won't care whatever you do to him! haha!

We paid Php295 plus Php50 tip. Not bad for his first paid haircut hehe! The cut suit him very well at least he won't perspire that much. Feeling preskong presko na siya! =D

Majolica Majorica - Lash King

I am forever at a lost in terms of mascara. I already have 3 mascaras but since i have short and scarce lashes, it didn't really do wonders to my eyes. Then I saw this at Sasa's shelves in HK.

I bought Majolica Majorica Lash King at Sasa Hongkong for HKD158. It said that it would fulfills all wishes! hhmm.. So when we got home, I tried it on my peepers!

My eye with no mascara yet

With mascara and light makeup
This is the finish product. It made my eyes look a little bigger and I'm 70% satisfied! haha! Will use this more often.

Celebrating Mommy's Day @ Summer Palace

It's the time of the year where we celebrated my second Mother's Day and my MIL.

We celebrated Mother's Day early on a Saturday to avoid the rush. My SIL reserved a table at Summer Palace, Edsa Shangrila. There they ordered dishes that are pleasing on the palate. First came out was the Soup.

Boiled Fish Mak

The soup was delicious, it was composed of fish, mushroom and vegetable. The soup was cooked just right. It was light and the best complement to our main dish.

Next came out was the vegetable dishes.

Soy Beancurd

This was just ordinary. Even my MIL could do this at home. It was fried and topped with sweet and sour sauce. This was supposed to be an appetizer, but since my SIL only eat vegetables it became her main dish.

Seaweed Taro Roll

Seaweed Taro roll was served next, my MIL said it was just okay. I didn't taste it because I was reserving my stomach space for our real main dish! LOL! By the way, this came out 8 pcs. Apparently, my camera was not fast enough to capture the whole dish. Hahaha!

Lohan Vegetable Noodle

The Lohan Vegetable Noodle was yummy! You wouldn't notice that it was pure vegetables. I love everything they put in there! The greens are crispy fresh and the mushrooms are chewy! Plus the sauce, it was just that tasty!

Yang Chow Fried Rice

Yang Chow Fried Rice was just the usual yang chow, nothing special about it. But still, it was tasty and  the right complement for the next batch of food.

Kingdao Spareribs

The pork in this Kingdao Spareribs was a little tough. It stuck between my teeth while the sauce that accompanied it was a little too sweet for my taste.

Lemon Chicken

This dish was just alright, but (nakakaumay siya!). We didn't eat a lot of this because of the strong lemony taste. We had to take home the leftover.

Prawn Salad

This top all dishes that they ordered, other than the soup. I love prawns and I love the set up. I was really thankful my husband ordered this. It was just a (pahabol), it was never to be ordered in the first place. Vegetables are crunchy and fresh, while the prawns are chewy and cooked just right. yummy!

I also ordered Dalandan juice for myself, because they all ordered house tea and I can't drink tea yet. Besides, I have colds that's why I also opted for the Fresh Dalandan. Hoping it would be a little better. It is fresh, I tell you and a little cold. But still fresh! That's what matters! haha!

Fresh Dalandan Juice

I peeked at our bill a little later and it was a little over Php7,000. For me, I couldn't justify the price because I didn't like the Spareribs and the Lemon Chicken that much. But we will definitely be back to try other dishes! Can't wait.. maybe this father's day! And I will let Bryan order whatever he wants! A gift for being a good husband and a good father! Haha!

Oh, By the way, my son ate what we bought along. He also ate some lemon chicken and fried rice. We put a little first on his bowl, so that it would not get cold easily. The bowl was a collapsible silicone that  I bought in HK.

Beef Broccoli Rice
My son full and satisfied from his lunch!

Wanchai, Hongkong Apartment

Once we bought our ticket for Hongkong, I was tasked to look for an apartment that have kitchen for me to cook my son's food. While surfing for a place to stay, I came to know Airbnb.com. It was an online reservation site that gives people right to have their place for rent and other people to have access to their apartment/house/room.

From their website:

Airbnb at a glance
Founded in August of 2008 and based in San Francisco, California, Airbnb is a trusted community marketplace for people to list, discover, and book unique accommodations around the world — online or from a mobile phone. Whether an apartment for a night, a castle for a week, or a villa for a month, Airbnb connects people to unique travel experiences, at any price point, in more than 19,000 cities and 192 countries. And with world-class customer service and a growing community of users, Airbnb is the easiest way for people to monetize their extra space and showcase it to an audience of millions.

At first, I was quite hesitant to book using their website. I researched people who already used Airbnb for reservation and it came positive. In that, I became more confident in booking using the site. I began searching for an apartment in Causeway and in Wanchai and found Alice apartment for rent. She was easy to talk to, thus I reserved the place right away. Below are the pictures I got from Airbnb to show you the apartment we lived.

The Sala

The kitchen

The 1st room on the left

The 2nd room on the right

Shower room

Overall, the place is clean and it got everything we need from cooking utensils to washing the dishes and trash bags. The apartment also have wifi, which became available on the 2nd day because of the thunderstorm. The location was okay, beside the building was a wet market. Watson was just a stone throw away, Mcdonalds and Welcome supermarket are just a block away. Tram and MTR are just 5 mins walking distance. The only downside was the building and the creepy elevator. But overall, our experience was great, if asked if we'd booked again? I will consider Alice apartment at Causeway Bay for a change, simply it was bigger and we will be a bigger family by then. hahaha! And regarding Airbnb service, they were great to use by us the end consumer. It's because they provide security and accessibility to such great places like this one.

HongKong with my son!

The flight from Manila to Hongkong was really really tiring! We were supposed to fly via Cebu Pacific on April 27 4pm. But when we were about to land in Hongkong that day, the flight we were on was reverted back to Manila! The pilot told us that they can not land in Hongkong or Macau due to the thunderstorm. The least they could do was go back to Manila and we all have to book our flight by chance to other time slot!

It was already 10pm when we landed in Manila, my son was really tired and hungry. We decided to booked the 5am flight so that we could go back at home to have some rest and put back the soup stock that I made at the freezer.

At around 230am we went out again to the airport and this time we landed safely at Hongkong international airport! Through out the flight my son didn't cry, he just walked up and down the aisle and watch his show at my Ipad.

I just hope that next time Cebu Pacific would notify us while we were on the ground that it would be delayed instead of reverting back to where we came from. That day was so tiring that me and my son just stayed at the apartment the whole day, we just went out to have our early lunch then stayed until it was about time to eat dinner.

Oh by the way, my husband didn't make it to our flight because of immigration. He was held at Philippine immigration because he has the same name of someone that has a case in Makati! He asked someone to help him and booked a flight at PAL later that day to follow us. Thankfully he made it at around 10pm that night.

LuLu in Rockwell

It was time to meet up with an old friend, and the place we decided to try was Lulu in Rockwell. Lulu in Rockwell was used to be called Lu, until they were sold to new owners, Chef Tom Hines and DJ Rodel Intia.

We availed of the voucher from the dealgrocer site, which is Php425 instead of Php695 for a 4-course meal. My friend and I, both got the gourmet menu. We also added iced tea for me since I don't drink hot tea for lunch.

Yummy iced tea

Carrot Soup

Barley Salad

Grilled chicken w/lentil, chorizo and spinach
The chicken was a bit dry and hard, but what do you expect if it's the breast part? I thought I hate lentils until I tasted this. It's the perfect combination for the chicken.

Herbed Seafood, grilled vegetables and couscous

Baked mac and cheese

We just added the baked mac and cheese because my friend was afraid that we won't be full. This was the best baked mac and cheese we tasted. I remembered calling the chef to asked what's in it. He said it consist of five kinds of cheddar cheese and truffle oil. It was baked just right and was not dry inside. The cheese oozed out when we took turns devouring it.

Hot tea served in a teapot

Coffee with white sugar, brown sugar or splenda

Cheesecake (dessert of the day)
Overall our experience in Lulu was great! The staff was attentive and the ambiance relax. There was a party going on the ground floor so it was a little noisy on the second floor. But still we had our great meal.

This is their menu, you can order anything with your 4-course meal. This is where we got our yummy baked mac and cheese!
