Habagat rains flood waters everywhere!

I've not been blogging for a week now because of the calamity that befall us. It's a disaster really, but at least all of us are safe, including our maids.

It started when the rains won't stop and flood waters are going up faster than I could pack eveything. That was monday night. My husband began panicking and ordering us to pack my son's clothes and mine in one bag and haul us to his uncle's house. He then left us there and went back to our house to stand guard. In about 5am, tuesday morning, the flood waters began to rise again and it reach his waist. He and his brother began bringing all three refrigirators upstairs plus all the dogs, then evacuated the house.

Come wednesday, the flood waters finally went down before noon. My hubby, our driver, one boy and 2 maids went home to start cleaning. Hay grabe, until now, it's already saturday, we are all still cleaning. I'm not complaining but seeing them having a hard time to clean all the mess and especially my husband just breaks my heart.

Enough said, I'm still grateful that we all are safe. That's what is important right now. Just wishing we won't experience it again and again..

Breastfeeding at Public

When I decided to breastfeed my son, I came prepared. I went to seminars and search the internet topics and things to buy. I also wanted to know how would I breastfeed him in public, kasi gala kami! haha!

I was toying to the fact that I could bring only my son, some clothes and diapers when going out. No hassle of bringing hot water, cold water, formula milk and tons of bottles. I'm a light packer even when I was just a teenager. I already learned that from my dad! LOL! He was a heavy packer, if he could only bring everything in his kitchen he would do so! hahaha! Then he would bear the consequences of carrying heavy things, plus the people around him! Hay..

Anyway, I only bought a nursing cover to cover me with when my son was going to feed. I knew there were stares.. But what the "H".. My son is hungry and I'm his feeding machine. Hahaha! Besides, my hubby was there beside me, I know anyone that would try to insult me will not get away with it. hihi! But sometimes, I also went to the Comfort room, provided it is clean, the breastfeeding room of a mall or even the dressing room. I only have to ask the sales lady for it. If all else fail, I sit at the corner of a restaurant, order something to drink and wear my nursing cover and feed my son. Very very convenient! =)

My son at 6 mos. (SG 2011)

When we went to Singapore, my son was about 6 months old. I breastfeed him during walking at orchard road at night and even in the MTR. Wearing of course my nursing cover. Maybe I don't give any much thoughts of others might think. I won't see them anyway after our vacation! haha!

With the right mindset, I believe that everyone can breastfeed. Why shy away with it? It is the best thing we could offer our children. If we want to preserve our boobs image, we could do that after breastfeeding. Go to Belo or any cosmetic surgery for that! haha! Just sharing my thoughts. I don't judge people who did not breastfeed their son and even people who bottle feed their son until 9 yrs old. So please do not stare at us who breastfeed in public. Just saying.

Citibank did it again! 50% off on Nike, Addidas, etc!

I received an email last week regarding the sale of Citibank offering 50% off on Nike, Addidas, Cole Haan etc in partnership with Sm. I was not planning to go because it would only mean expenses! Haha! But when my husband told me his rubber shoes was missing and he got aches when running using different shoes, I decided to tell him about it. It was a perfect opportunity to buy a running shoes without the hefty price tag! And of course a perfect excuse for me to shop! LOL!

Citibank offered their cardholders exclusive 1st 3 hours access inside, from 4pm to 7pm only and installments for 3 mos. for a minimum purchase of Php5,000. Not baaaad! Bad for my wallet though! haha!

The sale was located at SM Megamall, megatrade hall 1 and 2. At first, I thought my hubby would not like to go because he didn't really love going to megamall. But sayang ang sale and he really needs a running shoes. So off we went and got there at about 5pm.

There was not so many people yet, although the most crowded aisle was Nike.

Happy Feet Php499.00 Original Price at 1k plus

New Balance Women Php2,548.00 Original Price 5k plus

Socks at Php120 - 229.75 (Not on Sale)

I got myself one pair of slippers from Happy feet and one pair of running shoes from New Balance. Also got some socks for me and my son, although these were not on sale.

Timberland Php3,499.30 Original Price 5k plus

New Balance Php2,598.00 Original price 5k plus

We already need them anyway. My hubby bought one pair from Timberland and one pair from New Balance.

Cole Haan Php4,920.00 Original Price 12k plus

New Balance Php2,558 Original Price 5k plus

While my BIL also went there because his office was only a few blocks away bought also one pair from Cole Haan and one pair from New Balance.

My MIL never bougth anything. She's not a fan of rubber shoes, although there are lots of slip-in sandals and slippers, these are not that pretty and already out-dated. There are also bags and some luggages that were on sale.

Upon seeing that it was already 7pm, the long line that was already forming outside was suddenly rushing inside! horror! hahaha! Ang daming tao agad! I told my hubby to decide at once and to pay already. It's becoming stuffy and crowded na! hahaha! Till the next sale! =))

La Creperie @ Shangri-la Mall

When going out, usually we made it a point to have merienda so that our little one could have his milk. As you know my son don't drink his milk without watching his movies.

My DH decided to try La Creperie located at the ground floor near Haagen Daz. I ordered Angelina's Hot Chocolate and Campagne Crepe. While my hubby ordered his usual, Coffee latte and Mango Hazelnut au Chocolat!

Angelina's Hot Chocolate
The Angelina's Hot Chocolate was superb! Creamy and yet not too sweet. I have not yet tasted Europe's famous Angelina's Hot Chocolate but I hope this will do. Other hot chocolate I loved is Mary Grace's Hot Chocolate. But this tops it off! Yum! It was served with whipped cream on the side and 4 pieces of chocolate buttons. You have to pour the chocolate milk from the pot then add the bits and whipped cream as you like.

Mango Hazelnut au Chocolat
The mango Hazelnut au Chocolat crepe was not too sweet and the mangoes gave contrast to the crepe. A lovely combination for the sweet tooth people.

Coffee Latte
I don't know if the coffee was good since I can't drink coffee for the meantime. But my hubby has no qualms about it, so it might be okay for him.

Campagne
This one was something else! I love this crepe while my hubby was so jealous that he didn't ordered it himself! haha! The Campagne crepe was made of bacon, potatoes, caramelized onions, cheese and jalapeno peppers. I asked for the jalapeno to be served by the side but in the end i mixed it all up. When you cut this the cheese oozed out. Two thumbs up! My hubby almost finished my crepe! LOL!

When we went back, I'll try their other crepes! They have gourmet crepes, Les gastronomic crepes (savory crepes like my campagne) and for the sweet tooth, Crepes Sucrees ( make your own sweet crepes).

Lunch at Boon Tong Kee: Singaporean overload?

While roaming around Sm Moa, we spotted Boon Tong Kee and decided to try it out for a change. By it's name alone you could guess it's a Singaporean restaurant.

I'm not a food blogger, I only write what I think of the food. Below are our orders:
Spinach with Century Eggs Php295.00

Prawn Salad Reg. Php295

Prawns are big and crunchy but it turns us down that it was covered with sprinkles. Nagmukhang circus ang dating instead of a salad.

Fresh Lemonade Php125
Their lemonade was not too sweet and not too sour. Tama lang for me.

Chicken Rice x 2 Php65 each
Hainanese Chicken Rice have a tinge of chicken flavor.

Nako their hot sauce was too hot for me!

Hainanese Chicken Half Php425.00
I loved their Hainanese Chicken because the chicken is flavorful and yet soft. Kahit yung breast part. My hubby ordered Oolong Tea for Php45 per tea pot. The bill came out with plus 10% Service Charge, which is fine because their service was fast and their waiters are attentive. Maybe because there are only 3 tables occupied plus ours. hehe! You should try these restaurant when you want a to eat Singaporean food!

A mini date move

As we all know, those who have children, a date with your spouse is nearly impossible. We squeeze in as little as time together for those huge amounts of time we spent for our children. Who would want to leave his or her child alone to someone without guidance right? But once in a blue moon, we have to squeeze in a mini date with our spouse. This has it's own benefits and downside.

Me and my hubby have to find ways to have a mini date to ourselves. It's not because we don't have anyone to leave our son to. It's just that we don't want to just leave him. haha! He is growing so fast and we might miss the opportunity to teach everything to him. Anyway, TDKR was showing last week and we really wanted to see it. As soon as we can, we did! It was awesome and nothing the other movies shown could beat it. The downside is that it was so long! I became guilty that day.. hehe!

When we went home, all was okay. My son didn't even miss me! hmph! haha! Is this a good thing or bad? He is growing so fast and becoming very independent by the minute!
