LuLu in Rockwell

It was time to meet up with an old friend, and the place we decided to try was Lulu in Rockwell. Lulu in Rockwell was used to be called Lu, until they were sold to new owners, Chef Tom Hines and DJ Rodel Intia.

We availed of the voucher from the dealgrocer site, which is Php425 instead of Php695 for a 4-course meal. My friend and I, both got the gourmet menu. We also added iced tea for me since I don't drink hot tea for lunch.

Yummy iced tea

Carrot Soup

Barley Salad

Grilled chicken w/lentil, chorizo and spinach
The chicken was a bit dry and hard, but what do you expect if it's the breast part? I thought I hate lentils until I tasted this. It's the perfect combination for the chicken.

Herbed Seafood, grilled vegetables and couscous

Baked mac and cheese

We just added the baked mac and cheese because my friend was afraid that we won't be full. This was the best baked mac and cheese we tasted. I remembered calling the chef to asked what's in it. He said it consist of five kinds of cheddar cheese and truffle oil. It was baked just right and was not dry inside. The cheese oozed out when we took turns devouring it.

Hot tea served in a teapot

Coffee with white sugar, brown sugar or splenda

Cheesecake (dessert of the day)
Overall our experience in Lulu was great! The staff was attentive and the ambiance relax. There was a party going on the ground floor so it was a little noisy on the second floor. But still we had our great meal.

This is their menu, you can order anything with your 4-course meal. This is where we got our yummy baked mac and cheese!

    1. Nope! It was outside powerplant. You have to cross the street to go there. It is beside the ice creamery. I'll post the exact address for you. =)

We all know that this restaurant has its eclectic and diverse menu just to pick what you want. Well, I guess you would love the dishes there. Every bite of the food was like heaven. The food there is so delicious. Here are some of the eclectic and heavenly food which can surely be a "plaisir superlatif":

Strawberry and Mango Shake (with what I believe was Mint)

It was so luscious and smooth. It was sweet, delicious and definitely great. It was so delightful and wonderful. I was simply a . . . magical and remarkable drink.

    The Rib Eye Steak

This was so heavenly and (well, I believe some would probably say) to die for. It is so tender and delicious. Every bite just tastes so good and it just melts in your mouth. I love it a lot. It was greatly pleasing and delightful, in taste, in smell . . . in everything. I almost took this dish from my dad because that simple bite made me plead for more. The fries was a good pair with the steak. It was a simple delight.

LuLu's Mezze (Minniature Homemade Pita with Hummus Beiruti, Roasted Eggplant, Cheese, Salade Olivier and a few other dips)

This is a great appetizer to start your meal. My favorite was the cheese dip. It was so flavorful and so yummy! The hummus was light and tasty while the olive salad with potato and chicken was very filling. My mom liked the roasted eggplant dip which was tasty and had a smokey sensation.

    Zucchini Blossom Tempura

This is a good appetizer. The crunchy light batter was perfect with the tomato sauce, especially with the Davao goat cheese filled zucchini blossom fritters. It was a delight in one bite!

    Dark Chocolate Tear

This is my number one favorite of everything we ate there. Happy Ending? Definitely! This menu is so awesome. The set of desserts are awesome. More awesome though is the Dark Chocolate Tear that is not only name because it is shaped like a tear but would really make you have tears of joy. This was a premium chunk of dark chocolate and ev'ry heavenly bit of it. This is the most irresistable, pleasant and remarkable dish I've tasted in LuLu Restaurant.

LuLu Restaurant was truly remarkable and wonderful.
